Moab Utah
Apr -  Nov

Moab, the adventure capital of the west. At sunrise, the orange sandstones against the blue sky create a wonderful contrast. On your flight you can expect to see spectacular sandstone formations and dry desert canyon mazes. The Morrison Formations which host both dinosaur fossils and deposits of uranium and vanadium are equally intriguing. If the wind allows, we’ll dip down closer to the ground and float gently into the canyons below the towering mesas. At altitude you will be able to see Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Archces National park is the home to the largest and highest concentration of natural bridges and arches in the world. Keep your eyes open for the small things as well. If you are lucky, you might even spot the elusive and protected desert dwelling big horn sheep.

Directions from Moab: Drive North out of Moab Town on 191. As soon as you cross the Colorado river on the north side of town, start your odometer. In 7 miles, on your left you will see a parking lot. This is the meeting location. Do not cross the railway line. That's too far. We meet in the parking lots right next to  Highway 191.

Directions from 313: At the intersection of Highway 191 and 313, turn south towards Moab. This is at the Moab Giants Cafe where you can see the dinosaur statues next to the road. From this intersection, our meeting spots is 1 Mile to the south.

From the meeting spots we will transport you in our vehicles to the launch site.  Your parking will be paid for by Droplyne. At the launch site we will brief you on your flight, after which we will board the balloon. Flights are generally between 45min and 1h15min in duration. The total trip length is between 3 and 4 hours. After landing we invite you to join us in a champagne toast, a 260 year old tradition in ballooning. We will transport you back to your vehicles after the trip is completed.

Bathrooms

If possible please take care of business before we meet. There are porta potties available at the parking spot. Droplyne pays for your parking so you are welcome to use the facilities. We do have a camping style latrine (6ft privacy tent with portable toilet) available for "mother nature calls" emergencies out in the launch and landing areas.

What to wear.

Dress for the outside temperature that morning and dress in layers. It will warm up as the sun rises and you'll want to take a layer or two off. Wear closed toe shoes with flat soles. Please do not wear flip flops, sandals or heals.

What to bring

Bring your cameras, your friends and a good attitude as we are going to have some fun. Please leave handbags and backpacks in your car. Unnecessary clutter in the basket is, well, unnecessary. Space in limited.
